Starving!

I learned a valuable lesson today: take snacks to work! I ate a frozen low cal lunch at three, which was fine until about 6 PM. I started getting hungry. And hungrier until I left work at 8:30. I finally got home after gritting my teeth past a gas station (possible unhealthy snack option) and the rest of my 30 minute commute. I walk through the door and dinner wasn't quite ready. I had a small bowl of salad; plain with some blue cheese dressing (just a little bit) to take the edge off. But I scarfed down some pasta and bread like I knew I would two hours ago! I was so hungry I couldn't help it! I didn't do great today, but I learned something about myself, and about another challenge that I'm going to have to work with: I work long hours and if I am to be successful and not fall back into bad habits, I need to work smarter, not harder! Bring lots of snacks to work, maybe baby carrots, an apple or orange, maybe a dietary shake or bar; something to not make me a raving she-wolf when I get home.  I need to make up my salads before I go to bed. I did refrain from drinking soda today at work! YAY!! Instead, I drank about a Liter of Polar Seltzer water. It was flavored without sugar, zero carbs, calories and sodium. Gotta feel good about that!
